At 4319 Fountain Care, we acknowledged the predicament that families face when their loved ones are diagnosed with dementia. We therefore provide staff who are well trained, sensitive and have a genuine passion for the care of people living with dementia.
Staff are highly trained to manage the symptoms of dementia with the use of natural distraction techniques. We work with families when drawing up a care-plan to see what is important to the client and their families, taking a note of all preferences, interests and hobbies. Our staff then work towards achieving those goals and use the client's individual preferences and hobbies as a distraction to maintain any challenging behaviour that may be exhibited. This can potentially allow dementia suffers to continue to live independently and engage in daily activities with the support from staff on short calls or live in care.
Staff have been trained to comprehensively document any challenging behaviour, the triggers and what distraction technique was used to manage the behaviour. Our staff can independently de-escalate the incident with minimal supervision, minimising injury to the client and carer during an episode. We also provide one to one care for clients with a learning and physical disabilities.
